“ Food was delicious. Place could use an update but the food and service was fantastic ”
“ The Peking Garden is a wonderful locally owned old-school Chinese Restaurant. It's conveniently located on Broad Street near its junction with US Hwy 171. This is very close to the Interstates so it's convenient for travelers as well. Upon walking in, the depth of decor takes your attention. There are cut wooden screens, hanging lanterns, foo lions, and more. It's all very amazing! The dining area is divided into different rooms and all are softly lit and comfortable. The servers will then begin your meal experience. I was here for lunch, and my combination lunch special came in three separate courses. First came a large plump egg-roll which was one of the best I've had in years. Next came my choice of soup. I had Hot & Sour, which was clearly house-made and delightfully tangy. Then my combination entree was served, which included Sweet & Sour Shrimp and Moo Goo Gai Pan, with steamed rice. Both dishes were beautifully prepared, and a sight to behold. The veggies were perfectly crisp-tender and the sauces were succulent. This whole experience was very reasonably priced at $12.95. Great food, great service, and at a great price. What more can one ask from lunch? ”
“ Hands down the best egg rolls in Lake Charles. The staff is very friendly and attends to your every need. ”
“ The food was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly and the ambiance is wonderful! ”
“ The egg rolls and egg drop soup are great. That is pretty much all we order. Biggest problem is that they don't have enough people serving. If you go at lunch it gets a little crowded and the waitress is running at full speed. Nothing real bad but don't expect to go in and out in a hurry. ”
“ I want to go back here and try it again because I had not that impressed. As a child, I ate here often. My visit as an adult was not as memorable as child. The food was very good, though the shrimp was over cooked. We were also not charged properly unfortunately, overcharging quite a bit. The hot and sour soup is phenomenal. Sweet-and-sour chicken with it as well. Check it out. ”
“ The best. Stop every chance we get when in Lake Charles during their business hours. Authentic, made upon order. Old school, beautiful ambiance. Delightful, efficient staff, although short-handed. Please be patient. Worth the wait. Absolute best Egg Drop and Hot & Sour soups between Houston and New Orleans. Thank you, PG! ”
“ Of course I had to stop to get some Chinese food before we leave LA & you know it was good. I just ordered chicken wings & 2 egg rolls. It came up to 13.78. Not bad. The chicken was good a little greasy but good! ”
